  • What age groups do you coach at AC8 Academy?

    We welcome boys and girls aged 5 to 15 years old. Children are grouped by age and ability to make sure every player develops at the right pace.

  • Where do AC8 Academy training sessions take place?

    Our football training takes place in Harrogate and surrounding areas. Families from Knaresborough, Ripon, Wetherby and wider North Yorkshire also join us. Full venue details are shared when you register interest.

  • Who are the coaches at AC8 Academy?

    All sessions are led by UEFA licensed coaches with professional experience. AC8 was founded by Adam Clayton, an ex-Premier League footballer and UEFA A Licensed coach. Adam and the team are passionate about delivering top-quality girls and boys football coaching in Harrogate.


  • What makes AC8 different from other football clubs?

    We are an elite football academy in Harrogate, giving children access to professional-level coaching. Our focus is on technical ability, confidence, and values both on and off the pitch. This is what sets our girls and boys football coaching Harrogate sessions apart from grassroots football.

  • Does my child need to be at a certain level to join?

    No. We welcome children of all abilities. Whether they are just starting out or aiming for academy pathways, our coaches adapt training so every player is challenged and supported.

  • What kit does my child need?

    AC8 Academy has an official kit partnership with Oxen Sports, a Yorkshire-based sportswear brand. 


    Parents can order official AC8 kit bundles directly via our AC8 Academy Club page. 


    While it’s not mandatory to purchase the kit, we encourage it as it helps give our players a strong sense of team identity when training together in their AC8 colours. This ensures our players look professional while enjoying their boys and girls football coaching Harrogate sessions.


    Players train and play on astro turf, so it’s important they wear appropriate footwear — moulded studs or astro trainers are recommended (no metal studs). All players should also wear shin pads for safety during every session.

  • How do I register my child for AC8 Academy?
